The Vega Launch Vehicle (and its upgraded version, known as Vega-C) is a project developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with the european space industrial chain to create a light-lift rocket capable of launching small satellites into orbit.

The rocket is assembled inside a vertical integration tower (mobile gantry) at the Guiana Space Centre

Site: Guiana Space Centre

Location: Kourou (French Guiana)

Final customer: ESA

Year: 2007 (ongoing)

What we have worked on

Monteco took part in this project by supplying, on behalf of the ground systems contractor, a batch of fluidic panels to be installed inside the tower.

Monteco set up a white room, which is still in operation today, specifically for this contract.

The supply included:

  • Complete engineering services for construction
  • Piping supply and mechanical fabrication
  • Assembly in a white room
  • Cabling
  • FAT and packaging for shipping
